A wider view starts with more than one source.
Pin numbers count indexed articles mentioning a place. Several articles may cover the same event. This is a map of selected reporting, not a count of all incidents or all news in a city.
Coverage includes direct national and regional feeds from France 24, Le Monde, franceinfo, Le Parisien, Ouest-France, La Dépêche, Le Progrès, DNA, Le Dauphiné, La Voix du Nord, ICI and 20 Minutes. Dated Google News RSS searches expand the available collection where that service responds. Search results link via Google News and identify the original publisher. Duplicate headlines from the same publisher are combined.
The seven-day view combines dated coverage searches, current publisher feeds, and the saved snapshot included with this deployment. It shows the actual dates available. Source feeds and searches have limits, so this index is not exhaustive. A city must be named in a headline or publisher summary to appear on the map; national articles without a location remain in the news list.
Coverage refreshes every five minutes while this page is open. This deployment does not retain a shared archive between server restarts. Red pins include reporting published within three hours. If sources fail, saved articles remain available with their retrieval time.
